No, reader, still no new essay: that will be July 2nd, 2018, and trust me, you’ll be glad I held it back, because then you will remember that The Lightning Stenography Device, which you didn’t buy last time it was on sale, will be on sale again from July 2nd through July 6th. For five days you will be able to snag 2018’s most psychedelic novel for $0.99, which is pretty phenomenal but not that great a deal since the people who purchase hardback and paperback copies will be getting a 1000% return on investment when they sell their first editions on eBay in about thirty years. Still, none of this news–static essay date and sale date for The Lightning Stenography Device, which is available on Amazon—compares to what I’ve decided to announce. Please find below the publishing schedule Painted Blind Publishing for the next two years, as we prepare with bated breath THE DISGRACED MARTYR TRILOGY.
THE HIEROPHANT’S DAUGHTER, BOOK I of THE DISGRACED MARTYR TRILOGY: May 19th, 2019
THE GENERAL’S WIFE, BOOK II of THE DISGRACED MARTYR TRILOGY: August 14th, 2019
THE MAGICIAN’S CHILD, BOOK III of THE DISGRACED MARTYR TRILOGY: January 1st, 2020
THE DISGRACED MARTYR TRILOGY, OMNIBUS EDITION: October 31st, 2020
SECRET NOVEL: Sometime in 2020
That’s right: I’m pulling a Tolkien, rather than an R. R. Martin. All three books in the series are going to be published, though not ‘together’, as part of a coherent plan over the course of the year, with an omnibus coming in late 2020. If you’ve been enjoying my essays on The Book of the New Sun, reader, I strongly recommend you follow the blog and get hyped. Set in a dark future ruled by a cannibalistic race of genetically engineered humans called ‘martyrs’, The Disgraced Martyr Trilogy reads like Book of the New Sun and Vampire Hunter D had a baby whose godparents were the Heavy Metal comic series and maybe Aeon Flux. It is good, violent, cyberpunk fun, and, one more time, will be coming out May 19th, 2019. I will keep this blog flooded with reminders, so be sure to follow it, or just mark your ol’ calendar. But I recommend you follow it so as not to miss content like the exciting cover reveal late this year, offers to be one of the lucky pre-readers who receive signed paperbacks, and additional essays which may catch your interest.
And what about this secret novel? Well– I can’t talk about it, yet. I can only let you know that there’s something out there waiting for you, even beyond the trilogy.
Now do you understand why these essays have been so delayed recently? Anyway: July 2nd is a static due date, so come on back that day if you only love me for my Wolfe, and until then, have a safe and happy June!
